Does this mean a 500 sq ft house?
No. Floor area and paintable wall area are different measurements. A home advertised as 500 sq ft can have much more wall surface depending on its layout, ceiling height, number of rooms, and openings. As a geometry illustration, four 8-foot-high walls around a square room with roughly 4-foot sides would be near 500 gross sq ft before subtracting doors and windows.
