Does this mean a 1,500 sq ft house?
No. Floor area and paintable wall area are different measurements. A home advertised as 1,500 sq ft can have much more wall surface depending on its layout, ceiling height, number of rooms, and openings. As a geometry illustration, four 8-foot-high walls around a square room with roughly 7-foot sides would be near 1,500 gross sq ft before subtracting doors and windows.

- Coverage: changing from 350 to 250 sq ft per gallon raises the two-coat estimate from 9.43 to 13.20 gallons.
- Coats: two coats require twice the coverage volume of one coat.
- Surface condition: porous, rough, or unsealed surfaces usually consume more coating.
